It's not what you say but how you say it
Communication goes beyond language. There are so many subtleties to conveying a message, a mood or an ideal. Visual communication allows us to speak volumes without saying a word.
You only get one chance to make a first impression. You have an unlimited number of chances to alter someone's impression of you. Anyone can show up at a job interview in a $700 suit. That's a great first impression. As the interview goes on the more questions you answer the more you raise or lower that impression your make. The first impression is often not be the final impression.
Do it with style, Do it in style
In this day and age no organization should look less than stellar, no matter the size of your organization. Even if your working out of your kitchen, no one should be able to detect this by your image. Your potential audience should feel confident about your abilities when presented with your literature and materials. Your message should be clear, consistent, appropriate and to the point.
Over the past 10-plus years my desk top publishing duties have involved graphic design, graphic production and page layout. I understand the creative side of good design principles and fundamentals such as complimentary colors, contrasting colors, white space and visual asthetics. I also have a firm understanding of the technical side of computer graphics such as optimal file formats, color bit depth and color seperations. I have worked on layouts of technical manuals and color brochures as well as handle corporate identities, logos, branding and marketing literature. In addition to the software aspect I have experience with graphics hardware such as scanners, digitial cameras, graphics tablets, color printers and Raster Image Processors (RIPs).
